During the past week, heavy rains have ravaged many parts of northern, western, and southern Iran, leading to flash flooding that has taken the lives of over a dozen people, injuring nearly 100, and displacing even more, in addition to the amount of property that has been damaged from the flood waters. The unfortunate series of events also happens to coincide with the Norooz holiday, or Persian New Year. The Iranian Students' Foundation sends its condolences to everyone affected by the floods in Iran. We will be hosting a bake sale in front of the Stamp Student Union, where you can purchase baked goods and 100% of the proceeds of the sale will be donated to Children of Persia, one of only a handful of organizations with OFAC licenses for their charitable projects in Iran. Come join us for a sweet treat, and help us raise money for much needed aid to victims all over Iran. If you are an ISF member and would like to volunteer, please fill out this When2Meet with the times that you are able to volunteer on April 4. If you would like to help with the preparation of sweets and baked goods for the event, feel free to message ISF!
